Einar Johansen was born in 1906. He studied painting at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen, but scaled into ceramics early on. In 1935 he started his own pottery studio but went in-house at Søholm (Bornholms most noted pottery studio) in 1958 before reopening his own studio ten years later.
During his tenure at Søholm he designed many a beautiful stoneware and pottery – among these, his famous blue glazed stoneware which is considered one of Søholms most sought after collectibles to this day.
